There IS a difference between belief and knowledge. All sorts of philosophers, writers, critics, and thinkers contributed to the reading material for this class.
We can read what they wrote, we can contemplate it, we may even understand it, but we will never know it or experience their knowledge the way that they did.
To KNOW is to have an intimacy with an idea, with all its complexities, and to not turn away from new ideas.
To BELIEVE is to be introduced to an idea and to go no further with the relationship.
